DR650 engine parts will not interchange with LS650 parts!
The head has oil passages, because it serves to oil cool the combustion chamber and valve pocket areas (feature of different oil passage system & oil cooler).
The camshaft and drive gear are of a different design, which is only compatible with the DR650 head.
The Timing chain is not compatible.
The piston is not compatible, because in uses a different size piston PIN. Also the piston is 1 mm. larger (.040 in.) in the pre. 1996 DR650 and 6 mm. (.240 in.) in the 1996 and later model DR 650.
